Greetings from London!
I arrived in London on Friday; unfortunately this weekend has been more work than play, however I did get a chance to go to one of my favorite places in London for dinner, The Berkeley Hotel. I normally go to The Berkeley for afternoon tea, as they are famous for their Fashion Tea (which I will do a post about later) but tonight I dined for the first time at their restaurant, Koffmann’s.
The ambiance is incredible, hundreds of fresh flowers adorn the room, and the lightening sets a romantic tone. The cuisine is french, and the flavors are intense. In the middle of the room is the stunning, dramatic, marble top table filled with rosemary topiaries, white amaryllis flowers, kumquat plants and clementines.
This restaurant not only has a fantastic ambiance but some of the best food in London. Below is a shot of my dessert, pistachio soufflé with pistachio ice cream. (Look at the height on that souffle!)
Setting the mood through lightening is somewhat an of art form, Koffmann’s mastered it below on this lovely bookshelf.
The best accessory I own for European Travel is this Smythson Currency Case, it makes country hopping that much easier! It contains 4 distinct departments so that you don’t mix up your currencies, I slide my pounds in the blue compartment, my dollars in the green, my euros in the yellow and Swiss francs in the red. How ingenious is that? No more guessing–is it a quarter, a euro coin, or 20 pence!
Next weekend I’m off to Barcelona for the first time! Please send me your suggestions of great shops to visit! Thanks for reading! Xo
